Flat Rent Kolkata was started in 2025 by Rajat Das to fix a simple problem: finding a flat or room in north and east Kolkata meant hours of calls to numbers that never picked up, listings that were gone weeks ago, and brokers who showed you everything except what you asked for.
Local, current and on WhatsApp
We cover seven areas between the airport and Salt Lake Sector V, and we know them street by street: Kestopur, Baguiati, Lake Town, Dum Dum, Salt Lake, the DLF belt and New Town. That focus is deliberate. It lets us speak to every owner before a listing goes live, visit the flats ourselves and keep the list short and current instead of long and stale.
Tenants message us with a budget, an area and a move-in date and get a shortlist back, usually the same day. Owners list with us because we screen tenants, batch the visits and keep the whole conversation on WhatsApp so nothing gets lost.
The site runs on a proper property platform, so you can search, save favourites and submit a property yourself, but the person replying to your message is a member of our team who knows the difference between Rabindrapally and Raghunathpur.

Family, bachelor, working-women: every listing says who the owner will rent to so you do not waste a visit.
Fees stated upfront
Owner-direct listings carry no brokerage. Where a broker is involved, the fee is on the listing.
Help after the handshake
Agreement format, police verification, deposit terms: we stay on the thread until you have the keys.
Run by Rajat Das with local field associates
